Recently I was running a campaign I thought would convert really well. It was a gaming offer for Instant Action with an awesome landing page. I was using Facebook to promote this offer and I was targeting males age 13-19 that like Halo, video games, computer games, XBox, and PlayStaion. Looks promising doesn’t it?
I hit launch and check back about 3hours later. I was getting a good CTR and seeing some nice impressions so I was happy. I go over to Neverblue ads to check how many of my 20 clicks converted and to my disappointment it was only 2. I had no idea what could be going wrong, this offer seems steller. I paused the campaign and made my own landing page to see if it would help my conversion. Guess what, it didn’t! I few hours later I had 4 conversions out of 43 clicks. I was really puzzled what could be going wrong.
I Test The Offer
To get to the bottom of these bad conversions I decided to test the offer myself. I went over to their landing page to sign up and everything went great EXCEPT I never received my confirmation e-mail! Know wonder this was converting so bad. To make sure this problem was not only effecting me I decided to look into it a bit harder. After doing some research my findings supported my original hypotheses regarding not receiving confirmation emails. I cam across this support page that basically said Hotmail may block the e-mails and Yahoo can daily them up to 3 days! No wonder my conversions sucked.
Moral of The Story
Always make sure you test the offer and understand the process that has to take place to obtain your lead before you start promoting it! It will save you big time.
