YouTube is the 4th most popular site on the internet which means they are getting some serious traffic. We all know that traffic equals money so I decided to dable my feet into the YouTube world.

Picking a Niche
First thing I did was pick a popular niche that gets lots of searches on Youtube. I basically utilized the same process I do when choosing a niche for any PPC campaign. I probably could of approached this better but I was lazy and just wanted to get some traffic :-)

My Landing Page
Since this is my first time dealing with YouTube traffic I was not sure what would convert. I decided to split test between a landing page to an affiliate offer, and an Adsense site. My landing page was already made for a PPC campaign so that took a total of 0mins to do. For the Adsense site all I did was make a Wordpress blog using a free adsense optimized theme from this site: Adsense Themes. I chose to use the BlueSense theme. It took literally 5mins to set up and as you will see in my results below the theme was actually quite effective at getting a great CTR for my Adsense ads.

Getting Videos
I for one don’t have hundreds of videos lying around on my computer so the first thing I had to do was find some! All I did was download a fire fox plug in called Video Download Helper that allows you to quickly download videos from sites like Youtube. I then I searched various sites for videos related to the niche I was targeting. Once I found some a good videos that were not copy written I downloaded. I even took a bunch of videos from Youtube just to re-upload under my profile (ya spammmy)! To make up for my spammy conten I did make some of my own video when I could not find anything that was related to the subject of the website I was promoting.

Uploading The Videos
If your like me you don’t want to spend days uploading videos to all the popular video sites. There has to be a better way, and guess what? There is! It’s called Tubemogul Video Uploader . Tubemogul is a free service that allows you to upload your videos to all the popular sites such as Youtube, Metacafe, Yahoo video, and more all at the same time. They also provide tracking services for free! This was a key time saver to my video spamming.

Make Money
So after my videos where uploaded it was only a matter of time that I started to see some traffic. At the time of this post my videos have not been online very long but I will share with you my early statistics.

Affilete landing page: So far my landing page has got 15 visits and 0 conversions. Not much else to be said here. I will need to wait for more visits to see how effective it is.

Adsense Page: My Adsense page is actually performing well. It has a great CTR and overall I’m quite happy with its early performance. Here is a screen shot:

As you can see I’m only getting about 4cents a click! Today I’m going to work on optimizing my page to get some higher paying keywords which should greatly increase my Adsense revenues.
